Funny

Kids say the funniest things!

Today I only had my cousin's little girl, and Ali & Zach were here, so I decided with vacation coming up we would go to Target and get a few things. Tanner is fascinated with belly buttons. He also has a thing with being naked, but even if we are changing his diaper or getting him dressed he says he is a nakey butt.

So today while at Target we were looking at the mens socks and Tanner walked up the aisle, next thing we know he is yelling, "look at that nakey butt." He kept saying it over and over again. A lady walking by got a kick out of him and he acts up if he has an audience...oh well, he's only 2!!

Tanner's new bed!

Tanner is now sleeping in a toddler bed! One day last week, I took the kids outside before nap time. When we came in, I put Tanner into his crib, next thing I know he is trying to climb out! He had never done that before, so I laid him back down and he took his nap. When I talked to Chad later that day, I asked how he thought T would do in a toddler bed...T had no fear of anything & that's how Chad was when he was little. I had a fear of him trying to climb out again. He recently had a black eye and he has had staples in his head, so I think my fear was justified.

Chad took the railing off his bed and he was done surprisingly well! There have only been a few nights where we have had problems getting him to stay in his bed, he really seems to like having a big boy bed!!

Now to get rid of his binky!!

Fire station

Last week I was able to go with Madison's preschool class to the downtown fire station. I also took Mallory (she's in Maddy's class), Tanner, and 2 of my daycare kiddos, Blake, & Cammie.

The teachers divided the group into their class groups, Madison is a green star & Mallory is a purple heart, so Mallory went with the other big group. I went with Maddy's group and my daycare kids. We got to look at where the firemen cook, eat, sleep, do training , & of course the firetrucks and ambulances. The kids thought it was funny that their beds didn't have pillows on them, & they loved checking out the fire engines.

At the end of out tour we meet back up with the other group and we got to see a fireman in all his gear. Madison was scared at first, but I walked over with my group of kids & they got to see him up close. Tanner kept telling him hi, he loved being with sissy at "school." I was really proud of my group of kids that I brought, they were so well behaved!!

Part of Madison's preschool class, she has 31 kids in her class!

Swimming lessons

Madison has been going to swimming lessons the last few weeks, & she has really learned a lot. I have been taking her and one of my daycare kids, Mallory to the Y for lessons.
She is learning to put her face in the water & how to go under water, and the basics of water safety...but you have to start somewhere!! I think her favorite class so far was the week that they got to go in the boat. They had to paddle and her and Mallory loved it!!

Outside/T's new bike

Lately we have been spending lots of time outside enjoying the nice weather. The kids have been riding bikes and playing in the back yard.

On day we had been outside for over 2 hours & it was time to go inside....I still had work to do & all my daycare kiddos had left for the day, so I took T inside. He kicked & screamed the whole way! I put him down and he threw himself on the ground by Chad's gun cabinet and next thing I know he hit his head on it. He cut his eye lid and had a nasty black eye, he also had a bruise on his forehead. He loves to be outside and I have a hard time keeping him in some days!!

Last year we bought Tanner, but he was still riding Madison's old Dora bike.....poor boy:-( The stickers had wore off and the bike is red, ornage, & yellow....so it wasn't too bad, but this year we bought him a boy bike. He picked out a Diego bike. The 1st night we brought it home it was too late to ride it outside, so he rode it in the house. He ended up taking the bike to his room when it was bed time! He can't quite reach the pedals, but I'm guessing by the end of summer he will be able too!

Madison's fun weekend!

Last weekend Madison went with my mom (Nana) and my sister (Aunt Ali) to Des Monies for a dance competition. They left early Friday evening and returned late Saturday night. She had so much fun with the "girls" and all the girls that Ali dances with.
Madison stayed in a hotel for the first time and this was her first dance competition. She loves to dance and I'm sure she will be involved in the dance troupes in a few years. Thanks to my mom & Ali for taking her!!

This picture of Madison and Ali was taken 2 weeks ago at dress rehearsal for the troupes, Madison and I went to watch for a few hours.

Venting

I have to vent just for a minute.....I think some people in my life need to be more responsible! They have an amazing opportunity and they are ruining it & I don't think that they realize it & it makes me mad! They might finally realize the effects it will have in their life when it is too late & then what will they have left....nothing! Ok I feel somewhat better, it's my blog & I can vent if I want too!
